Fayette County Fairgrounds - Your Overnight Home on the Range

Fayette County Fairgrounds Fayette County Fairgrounds is located on Hwy. 77, 1/2 mile north of Hwy. 71 La Grange, TX.

Fairgrounds Bike Lost & Found

Located near Medical building, home plate of the baseball field and near the Mattress Firm Shower Trucks. You must have your Rider Number to claim a bike - NO EXCEPTIONS. Unclaimed bikes will move to the Bike Compound at 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Unclaimed bikes move forward to Austin on Sunday. If the bike remains unclaimed in Austin, it will return to the Society's Houston office. You must have your Rider Number to claim a bike - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Fairgrounds Day 2 Start

7 a.m. Day 2 Start - weather permitting
300 Club members and a guest leave first followed by all of the wonderful cyclists!
YOU MAY NOT EXIT ON BIKE VIA THE VEHICLE ENTRANCE/EXIT located at the north side of the Fairgrounds. YOU MUST EXIT AT THE OFFICIAL DAY 2 START LINE. Pedal Place (parallel to Hwy 77) will be only for the Bechtel Challenge Route through the parks and exits to the left. BP Energy Way (center street) is for the Pfizer Lunch Express Riders by-passing the park and exits to the right

Smithville Start

Day 2 Smithville Start is only 47.5 miles into Austin, as compared to the 70-mile trek from La Grange to Austin. This new Day 2 Start Line in Smithville is located at Riverbend Park on Highway 71 at the Colorado River. You can start in Smithville at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 13, ONLY if you stay off-site with your own bike Saturday, April 12. If you stay on the La Grange fairgrounds site Saturday, you can't leave Sunday morning for the Smithville Start (which would defeat the whole "shorter distance" aspect for you anyway).
