AUSTIN PARKING FOR CYCLISTS

Parking for cyclists using Friday’s Austin-to-Houston bus will be on the top two floors of the garage at the southwest corner of San Jacinto and 18th Street. The garage will open at 9 a.m.

To reach the parking garage, take I-35 to Austin and exit M.L.K. Boulevard west. Go three blocks west on M.L.K. Boulevard and turn left onto San Jacinto. Continue south on San Jacinto; the parking garage entrance will be on your right, immediately past the intersection of San Jacinto and 18th Street.

The garage has a maximum height clearance of 7' 2''. Oversized vehicles and standard size vehicles with roof racks will not fit in this facility. Remember to remove bikes from roof racks before entering the garage. The National MS Society is not responsible for any damages to bicycles, roof racks or vehicles as a result of parking in the garage.

Once parked, bikes will be loaded onto transport trucks near the garage. Look for the bicycle check-in area near Brazos and 18th Street. Once your bike is loaded, you will be shuttled to the Downtown Austin Omni to receive rider numbers, free CHAMPS bandanas, goodie bags and event T-shirts.

Remember to get a bus ticket at the Austin Expo. Passengers cannot board without tickets. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., charter buses will transport you and your luggage to the Omni Houston Westside Hotel. All bikes will be transported to Tully Stadium and secured. Bicycles will be available at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 21. Bikes will not be taken to Rhodes Stadium.

Where Can I Park It Friday, April 20, in Austin If I'm Not Using the Bus Transportation?

If you’re a participant interested in parking a vehicle in Austin on Friday, April 20, so it will be there Sunday, keep in mind that the only place you cannot park is on or within the boundaries of the event site. The boundaries of the event site are M.L.K., 15th Street, Trinity and Lavaca. All street parking and surface lots within the event site boundaries are off-limits. Vehicles parked on streets or surface lots within these boundaries will be towed at the owner's expense.

The best option for leaving a vehicle in Austin Friday is to park at the Capitol Visitors parking garage, located at 12th Street and San Jacinto. Garage parking is free for the first two hours and 75 cents every half hour until 5 p.m. Garage parking is free Saturday and Sunday.

The second option is to use street parking south of 15th Street. Meter rates apply until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., street parking is free throughout the weekend.

Our Mission
